I’ve always been a believer that my work will always speak for me. I know far too many people who will “talk the talk” but fail to deliver, and I refuse to be that person. I don’t actively go out looking for publicity.. if I comes to me, then I’m happy to talk.

I’ve always been wary of the SL press since a comment I made was distorted out of context and made me out to be something I wasn’t. It’s not that I’m not used to people putting words into my mouth – as open and friendly as I am, I do tend to keep most people at arm’s length until I get to know them better.

So doing interviews for the press has always been a bit of a touchy area.. I’m always flattered by the interest, and just when I think I’m happy to give my time, I’ll pull out at the last moment. It’s odd.. there’s something about the press that I’ve never been able to grasp. Reputation is important in Second Life, to me as a builder and entrepreneur. I protect it as much as I can, and the press has the power to take it from me.

In the past month, I’ve met numerous members of the SL media, through my works. As I already said, I’ve always maintained that my work will speak for me. So in the past month as I’ve made friends in the media, I’ve come to trust people and grant them my time for interviews and features.

I do feel something like a flavour of the month – June/July will see me in Prim Perfect magazine, Aspire Magazine, BG Magazine and Vain Magazine, as well as on SLCN shows Meta Makeover and The Tonight Show. On top of that, my name was also mentioned in an article on SL5B on the Second Life Blog.

Thankfully I don’t care much for publicity.. it’s still about creating and enjoying what I do in Second Life. Recognition is always nice, but I don’t live for it.. belief in your own work is what is paramount, and what will always come first to me.
