Just a day after Pathfinder Linden, one of the ever-dying out “oldbies” still at Linden Lab announced his job had become obsolete and he was leaving as there was no alternative position for him there, the Lab post this on Facebook:
Tact. The Lab have none.

They also crowed about how wonderful Search is on the blog when they still have an opening for lead engineer in charge of… you guessed it: Search!

Feh. We all knew LL had no tact from the beginning. This just proves it.

Search on the new browser is worse than ever. Products are no longer searchable by name…. wtf?

Slow down kid.
Basic example. If you get rid of the VP of Washers and Dryers, that does not mean you no longer need a new Supervisor of Accounting for that open job.
More than likely, the same person is not a fit for both positions lacking the accounting background (having gone to washer school) or it may even be humiliatingly low for him with regards to compensation or reporting to someone he used to be over, or hell- a number of other variables.
If you can run the postings with details, the case can be made, but to just spitball like this is kind of beyond the pale, unless you want to look….
