Day 2 in Riverland started off nice and calm. I woke at 5.30AM up to start my first day in the new job, being sure to tip toe around so as not to wake the girls. I made some bread and jam, and had a quick bath before running off to the carpool and finding my feet at the office. I figured the girls, with their forever bitchin’ about how messy I am, would be fine to leave at their own devices.

    Ummm.. apparently not.

Natalya was making some waffles for breakfast and managed to set the stove on fire – good going. So there was a fire raging in only the second day in the house. That just takes skill. Oh, and the smoke detector is useless – it does NOTHING.

The girls’ screaming alerted Rrish and she jumped out of bed in her underwear and pulled out a fire extinguisher out of nowhere. Where the heck has she been hiding that?! No bother, it did the job and the fire was out seconds before the fire brigade showed up.

What have we learnt today? That right after a fire, Natalya will ask her cousin about going to see a movie. Oh, and that she’s never allowed to cook again. Ever.

Well, at least the new fish is okay.

I named it “Ry Ry” for no particular reason. Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiishie. I’m so frying you in some nice batter.. just wait.

Just to give you some scope of the different personalities in the house, allow me to share a snapshot of Rrish and Nat’s bedroom this morning:

And then we have mine and Clare’s room:

I think I may hire a maid soon. This cleaning up after myself malarky’s going to fill up my whole day soon.  Oh, and that is Rrish in the bathtub there.

    Screenshot-2

Who the heck wears sunglasses in the bathtub?! I always knew she was a little odd.

Meh.. it runs the family, I guess..

I got back home shortly before the girls did, and promptly sent them to their rooms where they couldn’t start anymore fires. I replaced the oven, which the insurance partly covered, and then decided I was stressed out so headed down to the gym to lose some pent up energy.

Okay – so I’ve not quite worked out how to use the treadmill. Shut up.

In the meantime, Rrish has started work on her first novel, bless her..

She’ll be the top-selling author in Riverland in no time. Mark my words.

Awesome. Folded up at the sunglasses in the tub. And wow @ the fish. Even without batter, that fishbowl and fishy are yummy stuff.

OMG!!! This is just far too funny.

    • Clare Loring on June 15, 2009

Nat…if he was a good father, he would have cooked us breakfast before he left for work!
And the mess in our room…I didn’t do it!

    • Rrishanna Regina on June 15, 2009

Clare…You expect your father to make YOUR bed for you?

Nat…it means you have to learn how to cook using a cook book.

LOL @ Prad faceplanting on the treadmill.

      < .<

      >.>

And there’s nothing wrong with sunglasses in the bath.

It’s so good to see you writing again! Excellent stuff! :D

    • Dale Innis on June 15, 2009

Wahahaha! (Looks alot like The Sims 2. Have you used that? Is 3 alot different?)

    • Ryker Beck on June 15, 2009

Oh yeah. The Sims 3 is very, very different. :P The needs system’s been completely overhauled, the relationships and family trees work somewhat differently, the create-a-sim engine is MASSIVELY different (and incredible, I might add), you can customize EVERYTHING down to the color of the wood and the sheets on your bed, and the entire town is accessible with a single click of the button, without having to call a cab and hit a loading screen to get somewhere.

It. Is. Epic. I can’t wait for expansion packs. :D

    • Clare Loring on June 16, 2009

haha Rrish…I think we should compare parenting styles. I really have no hope in learning how to make a bed. He didn’t make his.
